Our self-contained chalet-style Airbnb has one double bedroom with en-suite shower room, and an open-plan living/dining area. There is a fold-out single bed chair available in the living area to accommodate an additional guest, plus a fully-equipped kitchen area. The living area has a woodburner (with logs provided) which helps make a cosy retreat for those colder winter days. There is a separate toilet/cloakroom/utility with washing machine and tumble drier, ironing board and iron. You can enjoy panoramic views over the valley from the balcony, and visit the garden (which you are welcome to share with us), down a number of characterful steps, with plenty of weeding to be done, if you feel so inclined! Basic wifi is available but, as we are out in the sticks, you will be able to access your emails, but probably not download videos or play games. The perfect opportunity to relax and leave the world behind!
There is ample parking, and easy access to the property. However, please note that local country roads AND our drive do have numerous potholes, and we have speed humps, therefore we DO NOT recommend booking if you drive a vehicle with a low-slung body or low front spoiler! For this reason we ask that you drive slowly whilst on our premises and because there may be children, horses or hedgehogs present.
If you are a photographer or artist we have beautiful, ever-changing views to be captured. For keen walkers, the Tamara Trail long-distance path passes nearby and, with a little notice, we are very happy to drive tired walkers from Bere Alston railway station to the farm - otherwise it is approx 1 mile's walk along footpaths and country lanes. There are lots of public footpaths on the Bere Peninsula including a loop of the Tamara Trail, and Gawton Gravity Hub extreme downhill mountain bike track is just a mile up the road. Just a short distance further on are the Tamar Trails multi-use paths for walkers, cyclists or riders. Dartmoor National Park is within a 20 minute drive from here.
Golfers have a choice of 3 local courses -Tavistock,Yelverton and St Mellion. The Airbnb has a space in the utitlity room for recharging golf trolleys.
A secure shed is available for bikes.
It may be possible to accommodate your horse - see livery page or please contact us for further information.
Bere Alston village is approx a 1 mile drive, or an uphill walk, and you will find pretty much everything you will need there - Co-op and Premier grocery shops, post office and village store selling locally-made bread and cakes, stationery and general hardware, excellent butcher, hairdresser and beauty parlour, doctors' surgery and chemist. There is a pub and several churches.
